Screenwash Pump

For some time the pressure from my 'normal' screenwash was pretty pathetic.  I assumed that I had blocked lines.  Then after a couple of years of just putting up with this the pump stopped altogether.  Perhaps when I replaced the pump then I would get the pressure back?  In fact, this was the case.  The lack of pressure was due to a failing pump, not blocked lines.

Here's how to replace the pump.

The 'normal' screenwash tank is tucked up under the LH front wheel arch.  You will need to remove the wheel and the two black wheel arch covers.

Tip.  Protect your wheel studs by covering with a cloth/plastic bag as a load of crap falls down when you remove the covers.

This is the view of the tank looking up into the wheel arch.  The tank is attached by a bolt at each end.  You will need to drop the tank to access the pump which is on top.  This requires disconnecting the big hose (reservoir filler hose)
Have a bowl ready to catch the fluid and swing down.
Remove the electrical connection from the pump.  Then just pull it firmly from its rubber hole in the tank.  Disconnect fluid pipe ( I cut mine off) and then replace and connect up new pump.

Clean Windscreen!
