We have 23 964s confirmed for the weekend and something like
40 BBQ attendees. If you have confirmed our attendance, please goto my
Weekend Details page. If you are still
undecided or new to the event, continue reading below.
An Invitation
Last year's 964 get together in Devon was very successful and a
lot of fun so I thought we would repeat again this year. Once again,
I will be be pleased to host everyone on Saturday at my home on the banks of the
River Dart from where we shall depart for some fun drives returning for a BBQ in
the evening. On the Sunday we will join the Garry Steele and the South
West Region for their Annual Concours just down the road at the River Dart
Country Park. This year Dave Wilkinson is kindly helping me out with the
publicity and organisation prior to the weekend. So please fill in the
form below to express your interest to Dave and contact him at
davew@computamedic.co.uk if you have any questions.

What to Do on Saturday?
If you want to join in some Porsche activities on Saturday I am
thinking of the following:
- 10'ish - meet at my place for coffee intros and a photo
shoot
- Scenic Dartmoor / South Hams convoy - destination - Castle Drogo
- 7pm till late - BBQ at my place with campfire by the river - traditionally cremated food and flowing drinks
You could join us for the day or just meet up for lunch or just for the BBQ. If you do want to do your own thing, we are in
a fabulous location just 3 miles off the A38 at Ashburton. Dartmoor has
some fabulous scenery and walking and is just 5 minutes away. The South Hams
beaches are just 30 minutes away and Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe
offer shopping and art, crafts and antique galleries.
For information on the area, check out some
Devon Links.
What's on on Sunday?
The South West region of the Porsche Club of
Great Britain are holding their annual regional concours on Sunday just down the
road at the River Dart Adventure Park, Ashburton, Devon.
This will be a fantastic event at a wonderful venue and will be a great day out
for the whole family. There will be many people visiting from other PCGB regions
and registers, but the more the merrier. Everyone is welcome and the venue is
ideally suited for families with something for everyone. It can be as relaxing
as you want (adults) or as much fun (& wet) as you want (adults and children).
There are lovely walks, an adventure playground, swimming, canoeing (backward
races are great fun) or just generally relaxing and ‘chilling’. There are
plenty of refreshment areas, or just take a picnic.
We will have a
dedicated 964 parking area alongside the concours line-ups and maybe Ken will
run a 964 fun Concours as well.
Whilst this ‘Street Class’ Concours is for Porsche cars only,
PCGB
are enhancing the event by inviting other car clubs to attend on the day and
either just show off their cars or indeed hold their own Concours or similar
event if they wish. These include AC, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Bentley,
Ferrari, MG, Morgan, Jaguar, Lotus and Panther. The PCGB Motorsport Truck
will also be there.
If you are interested in participating in the official concours, please email
Garry Steele from PCGB for details
and an entrance form. Concours entrance fee is a tenner.
Where to Stay
The
River Dart Adventure Park has plenty of camping facilities with electric hook
ups for caravans, campers and the like, (call the River Dart above to book).
Their campsite is a 20 minute walk from our house.
There are plenty of B&Bs and hotels within a few miles, but
don't delay too long in making your reservation as weekends start to get busy in
June.
For B&B and hotel listings checkout the Where to Stay
pages at
www.ashburton.org.
